What does it mean to be African?
"It means responsibility to the world, especially if you live in the West and Europe and the Americas in these plural societies, to explode their preconceptions of who you are, which are always narrow and caricatured and tend towards the negative, but not in a way that is seeking their approval. It is about making room for who you actually are. It's putting your elbows out and claiming your own space."
